Fellowships
Besides offering travel and research grants to Ohio State University
faculty and students, the Mershon Center also offers post-doctoral
fellowships to recent doctorates and visiting scholar opportunities
to established faculty at other institutions.
The post-doctoral fellowship is a one-year fellowship in residence
at the Mershon Center for scholars who received their doctoral
degree within the past five years.
Visiting scholars stay at the Mershon Center for varying amounts
of time, from a few weeks to a few months, to work with center
faculty and participate in center activities.
In either case, the scholar’s work must relate to one
or more of the Mershon Center’s three areas of focus:
• The use of force and diplomacy.
• The ideas, identities, and decisional processes that
affect security.
• The institutions that manage violent conflict.
