Teaching/Research
Dr. Cooper's research and teaching interests include comparative politics, political economy, and the politics of financial markets, with a focus on China and East Asia. Her research examines the politics of financial market development, as well as the impact of globalization on Chinese politics, economy and society, including the dynamics of public opinion within China on WTO and globalization, and the prospects for democratization. Her current research examines the role political regimes play in the creation of stock market institutions in China and other emerging markets.
