Mershon Project
While at the Mershon
Center, Mujani will work with
Bill Liddle on the Indonesian National Election Project, a social scientific survey conducted in the wake of Indonesia’s national parliamentary elections on April 9, 2009.
Research foci include perceptions of Indonesian voters about political parties and leaders, as well as channels and processes through which voters received information about partisan politics during the political campaign.
The 2009 survey was conducted by Lemnaga Survei Indonesia under the auspices of the Comparative National Elections Project, organized by Richard Gunther. Mujani and Liddle will create a dataset of responses, then analyze Indonesian voting behavior by comparing the results to a similar survey conducted in 2004. The result will be a book about Indonesian voting behavior.
