Jem Panganiban is a master’s degree student in the Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies. Her current research examines gender and environment justice issues in maritime Southeast Asia. Before joining her graduate program at The Ohio State University, Jem worked as a community development professional focused on women’s legal and human rights in the Philippines, gender-based violence against women and LGBTIQ persons in Southeast Asia, and feminist research on themes of migration, plural legal systems, women’s rights and the environment.
