Mershon student scholars awarded Fulbright-Hays Grants
Mershon-funded doctoral students Natalie Wright Romeri-Grass and Mohammed Shedeed were awarded the prestigious Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad grants. Natalie will spend nine months in Colombia, delving into the multifaceted relationships between ex-combatants and neighboring villagers, exploring peace agreement implementations, community reintegration, and the flow of aid in post-conflict areas. Meanwhile, in Jordan, Mohamed will dedicate ten months to investigating the intersection of tribal identity and water management politics, focusing on how power differentials among tribal elites influence the distribution of essential services. Both research projects, supported by the Fulbright-Hays program, promise to shed light on complex, pressing issues in international security. Congratulations to Natalie and Mohamed on their awards!
