The International History Seminar is a year-long, in-person seminar, supported by the Mershon Center for International Security Studies and the Ohio State History Department.

The IHS’s mission is to:
- create a cohesive, engaged community at Ohio State dedicated to the study of international history including faculty and graduate students from diplomatic, military, and international history, and from political science, geography, sociology, and comparative studies.
- bring high-level, cutting-edge work to Ohio State through presentations, comments, and pre-circulated papers whenever possible.
- explore new areas of research in international history, providing opportunities for Ohio State faculty and students to present alongside regional, national, and international scholars.
- solidify and advance both the community and reputation of international history at Ohio State.

Monthly speakers are drawn from Ohio State, as well as locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally acclaimed institutions. IHS focuses on rising stars and emerging subject areas, in addition to established figures and broader work.
