Nowshin Sharmila (she/her) is a master’s student and graduate teaching associate at Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, Ohio State University. She is particularly interested in critical anti-trafficking studies focusing on sex work and sex trafficking, gender and migration and gender-based violence, concentrated in South Asia. She has advocated for sex worker and their children’s rights and worked with several non-profit organizations working for it. Sharmila has a strong background in qualitative research methods and was involved in yearlong collaborative ethnographic research projects with IDS, University of Sussex back in Bangladesh.
