
In the last decade, democracies around the world have experienced rising authoritarianism and polarization, the erosion of norms, and the weakening of the rule of law. In the spirit on understanding the global and transnational nature of these problems, the Mershon Center for International Security Studies, the Center for Latin American Studies, and the Brazil Gateway of the Office of International Affairs are jointly hosting a panel with Dr. Andrew Janusz of the University of Florida and Felipe Loureiro of the University of Sao Paulo.These two experts will discuss the erosion of democracy in comparative global perspective with a focus on Brazil and the United States.
