The return of Mershon Monday for Spring

MMReturns

We welcome back our Mershon Monday series on Jan 30, with Yana Hashamova and Sunnie Rucker-Chang (both Slavic + East European Languages and Cultures) presenting their edited volume Cultures of Mobility and Alterity: Crossing the Balkans and Beyond. For February, we move into a mini-series on water security, starting with an overview on Feb 6 from Nick Breyfogle (History), then Matthew Birkhold (Germanic Languages and Literatures) presenting his new book Chasing Icebergs on Feb 13, and Fazlul Haq (Byrd Polar) and Bryan Mark (Geography) on Feb 20, discussing a proposal for exploring India-Pakistan border tensions over water resources in the Indus Basin. Shifting gears, we'll conclude the month on Feb 27 with Morgan Liu (Near Eastern and South Asian Languages and Cultures) and Smoki Musaraj (Anthropology, Ohio University) exploring the culture of global elites.

Mershon Mondays encourage Ohio State researchers in different disciplines, career stages, and professional networks to share ideas and perspectives on global security questions. A light lunch is served.

Given a strong response in the fall, we're now requesting advance registration. You can register for Mershon Mondays on the events page.
