Two Mershon Affiliates are 2024-2025 Fulbright Scholars

Mershon Affiliates and Fulbright Scholars Jennifer Eaglin and Margaret Newell

The Ohio State University recently announced that we are the top producer of Fulbright U.S. Scholars for the 2024-25 academic year among all colleges and universities in the United States with 14 selected for the prestigious award.

According to Fulbright Scholar and Fulbright-Hays Programs Director Joanna Kukielka-Blaser in the Office of International Affairs, two of the fourteen 2024-2025 Fulbright Scholars are also Mershon affiliates.

Jennifer Eaglin, Associate Professor of History, is a Fulbright Scholar in Brazil. Margaret Newell, Professor of History, is a Fulbright-UCD Mary Ball Washington Scholar who is teaching and conducting research in Dublin, Ireland.

Through research and engagement, and in collaboration with our affiliates, Mershon studies the human and social dimensions of complex international security challenges to reframe the big issues while creating new models for problem-solving.
