Jared Rabinowitz is a Ph.D. candidate in political science specializing in international relations.
Jared is interested in political phenomena that subvert boundaries between domestic and international arenas. Broadly, his dissertation research explores how territorial practices shape global environmental governance, focusing on the emergence and development of state capacity and authority to measure, monitor, and control the Earth’s atmosphere. Additionally, he is interested in the ways that individuals, corporations, and domestic legal institutions influence international relations. His current research in this area examines the endurance of settler colonial expansion in world politics.
Before coming to Ohio State, Jared worked for several years at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs. He received his BA from Bard College in 2016 and was awarded the school’s Antonio Gramsci Prize for best senior project in the political studies program.
